Sometimes, I don’t want to do anything. Sweats and hot apple cider seem more my jam than getting up and putting effort into kicking my own butt. And then inevitably, I come across some fitness quote whilst perusing Pinterest. BAM. Workout clothes, on. Shoes, on. It’s time to be BADASS. These are some of said quotes that always seem to get me off my tukus and out the door.
“Just get it done. The only person you’re letting down is yourself” -Phil Knight
Okay so technically, this one isn’t fitness. But it kind of just calls you out on your BS, doesn’t it. This quote can apply to literally everything, so I’m thinkin’ it deserves the top spot
“I will beat her. I will train harder. I will eat cleaner. I know her strengths. I’ve lost to her before but not this time. She is going down. I have the advantage because I know her well. She is the old me.”You know yourself better than anyone. You know your weaknesses. You know your strengths. This quote helps me remember that I’m in charge. I’m the one in control. Do I really want my old habits to stall me when I’m trying to change for the better? NO. It’s time to give up on the old and fight like hell for the new
“If you’re tired of starting over…stop giving up” -Shia LaBeoufHow many of us have started a weight loss journey with all the gumption in the world, to only give up when we want that second cookie, or want to sleep just 5 minutes longer? We figure it’s not going to hurt, right? Wrong. That’s when your mindset changes. It changes from the no excuse attitude, to the old habits that got us to where we obviously don’t want to be. Your decision. Your future.
“Believe in yourself and all that you are. Know that there is something inside of you that is greater than any obstacle.” -Christian D. LarsonYou know this all to well. You doubt how strong you are, what you’re capable of. We’re our own worst critics, when we should be our biggest cheerleaders. If you truly believe in yourself, you are capable of ANYTHING that you set your mind to. You find ways you never thought were possible. You find strength you didn’t know was inside of you. You find the beast that’s been there all along.
“Remember that great expectations create great capabilities. If you limit your goals to what you know you can achieve, you are setting the bar way too low’ -Ray DalioRemember the phrase ‘shoot for the moon’? It applies to fitness as well. Look at the hundreds of people who’ve lost immense amounts of weight because they had a solid reason why. They set their expectations high. They succeeded.
“Whatever your training method, be an absolute RELENTLESS ANIMAL in that moment. It defines us” -Dwayne JohnsonOkay how could I not add something from Dwayne Johnson, have you SEEN that body? Good heavens. I can tell you right now, homeboy doesn’t give excuses. Or eat candy? Don’t know if I’ll ever get to that point. But seriously, get your butt to the gym and when you’re there, BE ALL THERE. Half assing it does no one any good.
“Do sharks complain about Monday? No. They’re up early. Biting stuff. Chasing shit. Being scary – Reminding everyone they’re an effing (edited obviously) shark”Stop complaining. You wanna be a shark? Be a shark. You wanna be badass? Be.badass. The only one stopping you is you and that lame ass excuses you keep giving. Stop complaining and start doing.

invincible, unconquerable, unbeatable, unassailable, impregnable, invulnerable, unsurpassable , unshakeable;
Are you convinced yet? It’s all mental.
